College of Fine Arts and E.W. Scripps Journalism – Athens, Ohio
In this highly-selective Scripps Journalism program, I studied technical writing, news reporting, editing, photo editing, information graphics, film, and photography. Meeting undergraduate requirements for Fine Arts, I have two years of art and film history, fine art photographic processes, color theory, drawing, and graphic design.
I also studied photo documentary and picture story development under contributors to National Geographic and Life Magazine in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Paid Internships
Still Photographer – Opryland USA, Nashville, TN
I spent a summer in Nashville as a production staff member for live cable TV broadcasts, where I photographed live performances, developed film, printed 8 x 10 “glossies” and archived photos for promotional requests. I photographed seemingly everyone in Nashville. The line-up includes, Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl, Johnny Cash, and pictured here, Merle Haggard.
Mobile Phone Operator and Still Photographer
Ohio University Telecommunications, Athens, OH
I worked as a production staff member for the WOUB live TV show, “Take Me to Your Leaders.” In rural Ohio elementary schools, students asked questions directly to local and state government officials via new cell phone technology during live broadcasts.
